The Judging Application is Open for the Dakota Aerial Championship 2025

We are in search of qualified aerial judges to objectively judge the Dakota Aerial Championship. Judging can be done virtually or in person. 

We are accepting judging and workshop submissions until September 30, 2025. All virtual submissions will be received by October 31, 2025, and all in-person competitors will compete on Friday. November 7, 2025 and Saturday, November 8, 2025. If more competitors than anticipated enroll, we will have limited performances on the morning of Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Judging Requirements:

• Judges will be assigned to 1-2 apparatuses to judge. The judge must coach or practice at a minimum of an inter/advanced level. We are seeking judges who are well-versed in aerial lingo and understand the difficulty of the moves they are judging.

• Judges are required to complete all virtual judging before November 6, 2025. You should have time between November 1-6, 2025 to submit your feedback for all virtual submissions. 

• Judges must be available on November 8-9, 2025, virtually or in person, to judge all in-person competitors. 

• For virtual judging of in-person competitors:

  • Performances will be uploaded to YouTube, which all judges will get access to. You may be able to watch this in real-time (pending Livestream) or play it back to judge.

  • Feedback will be submitted via a Google Sheet (housed in Google docs). Each Judge will get their own scoring sheet, and will not be able to discuss the judging of competitors before announcing the results at the awards ceremony

• Judging feedback must be thoughtful and constructive. Each critique must have at least a total of 6 sentences of critiques/feedback for each participant.

• Compensation:

  • Judges will be compensated $4 per each virtual routine and $5 per each in-person routine. This averages to $30+ per hour. All judges will be paid via PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App. Please send your name to us so we can compensate you accordingly.
